MHF2 Lightning Round: Village 3 ★ - Water Wyvern in the Desert (Bow)

I finally got the editing program to work. This was both a test of the video after editing and the first attempt at killing the Plesioth in MHF2.

I've put a weapon restriction on myself and forced myself into just using the bow to finish all quests in MHF2 (or at least get as far into the game as possible with just a bow). The equipment I used for the quest was the Sonic Bow I (lightning elemental) and the complete low level gunner Battle series set. I also added some decorations to increase the ability Attack up from low to medium.

For items I brought some power coating, pitfall trap, and a left over sonic bomb. I also brought the demon and armor flute as I had the Felyne woodwinds activated.

I've fought and killed the Plesioth in MHF1 many times so I wasn't expecting a very difficult fight. I was more concerned I'd kill it while it was in the water. The Plesioth had a new attack it can use when it comes out of the water. The slithering on the ground move was only used when it jumped out of the water in the first game and never when it's walking around on the ground. The additional move is not threatening as it does very little damage and it did provide a better opportunity on luring it to a trap compared to the first game so I'm kinda glad they added it. It also seems to move around in the water a lot quicker than in the first game as I did mess up the timing with the sonic bombs twice.

The video cuts out after the guild points but this quest opened up the training quest for Plesioth. I'll probably do those and kill the Plesioth a few times to put together a Runner skill armor set.

MHF2 Lightning Round: Daimyou Hermitaur Solo Training - Bow

First lightning round post.

The video was taken to test out my new capturing device. It seems to do a fair job and the quality is OK considering the PSP doesn't really output to HD. I didn't do any editing on the video because I was only testing the quality and how well it will look when uploaded to youtube.

As for the content, it was my first attempt at doing the Daimyou solo training quest with a bow. Since I've only been using a bow from the start of MHF2, it wasn't very difficult to finish. I do wish I hadn't screwed up the timing on the Sonic Bomb as that would of shortened the fight a few minutes. The one thing I definitely noticed was how exceedingly useful the Runner skill is for the Bow. Charging doesn't drain nearly as much stamina and makes it possible to constantly shoot charged shots at the monster.

The next gameplay video will be for Plesioth. I hope to test out the editing software to shorten some parts of the video (ie. load times) for your viewing pleasure.
