SRW Alpha 3 Lightning Round: Selena Stage 4 Hell's Gates, Open

As I mentioned in the previous post, this stage has two battle stages. This is the second battle stage and it's actually when the stage's title role shows up. The stage lasts for 2 turns but in reality, you only play 1 turn. The rest of the stage is just all story events.

The only thing you need to do gameplay wise is to survive. So use the Ryusei and Rai's spirit commands to survive the enemy turn. You can't attack so just move as far away from the enemies as possible. You'll probably be attacked by two of the enemies but you should be able to survive. I was actually pretty lucky getting through it unscathed. When turn 2 starts, there's really no need to do anything as the stage end event will start on the enemy turn.

A few notes:
 - SRX is actually a super robot type unit composed of 3 different real type units. R-1, R-2 Powered, and R-3 Powered make up the SRX. R-1 is piloted by Ryusei, R-2 is piloted by Rai, and R-3 is piloted by Aya. When they combine as SRX, Ryusei does the actual piloting of the unit; Rai maintains the units power levels and monitors the Tronium engine; And Aya maintains the transformation of the units with the T-Link system. In the first game (Alpha 1), the SRX team is disbanded and the unit is dismantled at the end of the game.

- T-Link System (Telekinesis Link system) is a system created to utilize a pilot's telekinesis ability for support/control of the unit. The system is using some Extra-over technology so there's still a lot about the system that is not really known.

- Uranus System is a backup for the T-link system implemented to protect the unit and/or pilots. It activates when the pilot using the T-link system is under great stress. The system boosts the unit's power levels and reaction time greatly but at the cost of the T-link user's mental health.

- Tronium is a highly unstable material that is extremely radio active but can produce immense amount of energy with little effort. It is only found in certain meteorites and is extremely rare.

- The name of Vaikran and it's attack "Beria Readyfer" might not be translated properly into English. I've tried to see if there's a translation for those but have not been successful. If someone knows the proper translations for those, please let me know so I can correct it in the future.

 - I didn't put any markers for this video as it's mostly just story events.

A side note about the stage 4 prologue:
 - I forgot to add in the notes, the proper translation for Shin Getter 3's attack "Daisetsuzan Oroshi Nidangaeshi." I could of used the literal translation, which is "Big Snowy Mountain Drop - Double Reverse", but decided not to as it is a Japanese attack. I was going to add the literal translation in the notes but forgot to do it in the last blog entry.

SRW Alpha 3 Lightning Round: Selena Stage 4 Prologue

This stage is a bit different than normal. It's actually got two battle stages. The first one is in the prologue and it's where you'll be controlling your characters you have so far. So this video will actually show the real gameplay of the stage. The second battle section is more of a event battle and is short. The reason the actual battle is in the prologue is because the title role for the stage happens after the first battle (so in between the two battle stages).

This stage is where you'll do the challenge mission to earn the skill points. In order to finish the stage, you either have to defeat all enemies within 5 turns or reach the designated point with your ships within 5 turns. I suggest defeating the enemies as it's not that hard to pull off as long as you use all the units and the "Dash" spirit command for the ones that have it. The two units to watch out are Skullrook and the Dungele's Magnum platoon. Skullrook has a devastating attack (Extra-large Drill) which can do some hefty damage even on super robot types. It also has a group attack so you'll want to use spirit commands to increase your defence or evasion on all members of a platoon. Magnum doesn't have any group attacks but can do some pretty hefty damage to real robot types. Use spirit commands on the platoon leader when attacking.

When dealing with Dungele's platoon, I also suggest destroying the platoon members before defeating Dungele for extra exp and money. If you defeat Dungele before destroying his platoon members, he'll escape along with his whole platoon.

The Muge small air battle mech that's at the front row of the enemy fleet are small units so you'll find a lot of attacks will have low hit rate even with real type robots. Use hit rate spirit skills.

A few notes:
- Muge are the alien enemies from Dancouga series.

 - Garuda was a great general from Campbell that showed up in the first Alpha game. He was obviously defeated in the first game.

 - I'm not sure if anyone noticed in the pervious video, but Mazinkaiser was spelt wrong for some of the attack name display (was spelt Mazinka'SI'er). That's corrected in this video.

Here's the video:

Note: It is currently still uploading. I will update once it's done.

SRW Alpha 3 Lightning Round: Selena Stage 3 Counterattack! 31 Machine Primevals

FINALLY!!!

I actually wasn't sure if I'll be able to finish this before the end of the week. It's probably the most longest video to date. Over 1 hour. I'd be very surprised if anyone actually watches the whole thing.

The video is long because I wasted some time trying to figure out my strategy and also doing pointless attacks.

Alright. So first a few advice for those playing the game. The primevals have Zonder barrier and only has one attack. The one attack it uses is a group attack so be wary of your team members for each platoon. You can avoid the attack by putting your unit right by the enemy since their range starts at 2. So if you want to be on the safe side, just attack while beside them.

Keep in mind that as soon as you attack a primeval once, it'll have enough will to activate it's Zonder barrier. At that point, none of your team attacks will do any damage and most of the attacks that do damage below 2500 will be completely nullified. If you hope to do some damage, then make sure you attack with anything over 2500 base damage. I would even go as far as saying anything with a base damage of 3000 at least.

Burning's team is almost useless once the Zonder barrier is activated. The only attack that will work for him is the "GM rifle (rapid-fire)" attack. That's why I mostly used them to do the initial attack on most of the primevals. However, even with that, once you've killed 10 of them, all other primevals will have enough will for Zonder barrier.

If you forget like I did on occasion, you'll curse yourself for using a weaker attack or attacking at all.

The good news is the enemies won't attack during their phase. They'll all head straight for the South end of the map. Putting one of your units in their path might not seem like much but it'll help greatly when dealing with all of them.

The ZX-03 will appear at the start of turn 4. It's got a lot of HP and a powerful group attack that can wipe out your weak team mates within a platoon with just one attack. Make sure to attack with a unit that's alone or team mates that can use dodge/defense skills. You can use J against it as he has some good defense spirit commands.

Now, on to some notes for the video:
- Since it's a long segment, I'm not really confident I did a good job with proof reading all of it. If there's some grammatical errors or timing errors, I apologize in advance. I wanted to try and finish this within this week so I rushed a little with proof reading.

- EOT is short for Extra Over Technology. Basically a term for any alien technology that far exceed Earth's conventional technology.

And now, here's the video:

Note: Video might still be uploading as it's currently at 900 minutes. I will update this post once it's done uploading.

Update: Video is up and all markers are in the description. Enjoy!

SRW Alpha 3 Lightning Round: Selena Stage 3 Prologue

Stage 3 prologue is done! And now I get to work on the hard part. The next video is going to be long. 1 hour and 40 minutes long I believe. It's all just the stage 3 gameplay. I'm hoping that I'll have it finished by the end of next week at the latest. Cross my fingers.

Stage 3 and the next few stages are shared with all four characters. Although the main character interaction will obviously differ, the basic premise will still be the same. Interestingly enough, stage 3 doesn't have an epilogue after the gameplay. It just goes straight to the intermission screen.

There's only one note for this video:
- H-bomb refers to Hydrogen bomb. It's funny how Amuro's legend is blown out of proportion.

Without further adieu, here's the video:

Update:
Youtuber Arcade Bumstead pointed out my grammar error. I also noticed that I forgot to add the correct filter on the video to make it look more vibrant. I'm re-uploading the video and will replace it with the new one once it's ready.

Update 2:
Version 2 has been uploaded. Old one has been removed.

SRW Alpha 3 Lightning Round: Selena Stage 2 Epilogue

Stage 2 is completed!

The epilogue is pretty long but not nearly as long as the gameplay. I actually finished recording stage 3 and the gameplay itself is over 1.5 hours... I'm debating on if I want to divide it into two parts but I probably will just do it in one single video.

Some of you might have noticed, but I've started putting some markers in the description for the gameplay video so people can skip to whatever part they want to. I might start putting markers for certain battle animations too but we'll see how it goes.

Here are some notes for the epilogue:
- GP-02 capture incident is based off of Gundam 0083's Operation stardust. It happened in Alpha 1.

- GGG is short for Gutsy Galaxy Guard. "GGG" is read as "three Gs".

- Zonder/Zonderians are enemies from Gao Gai Gar series. You fought them in Alpha 2.

- Galeon is the main mech that is makes the core of Gao Gai Gar. It seems to be sentient.

- R&D is short for research and development

- ES Window is short for EScape window

- Campbellians are enemies from Combattler V. You fight them throughout the Alpha series.

- Londo Bell was the players team's name in the first Alpha game. Originally from Gundam's Char's counterattack.

- Boazanians are enemies from Voltes V. You fight them throughout the Alpha series.

- Baamians are enemies from Daimos. You fight them in Alpha 2

- Zelanians are enemies from Gaiking. You fight them throughout the Alpha series.

Quite a bit of new terminology.

And here's the video:
