SRW Alpha 3 Lightning Round: Selena Stage 4 Prologue

This stage is a bit different than normal. It's actually got two battle stages. The first one is in the prologue and it's where you'll be controlling your characters you have so far. So this video will actually show the real gameplay of the stage. The second battle section is more of a event battle and is short. The reason the actual battle is in the prologue is because the title role for the stage happens after the first battle (so in between the two battle stages).

This stage is where you'll do the challenge mission to earn the skill points. In order to finish the stage, you either have to defeat all enemies within 5 turns or reach the designated point with your ships within 5 turns. I suggest defeating the enemies as it's not that hard to pull off as long as you use all the units and the "Dash" spirit command for the ones that have it. The two units to watch out are Skullrook and the Dungele's Magnum platoon. Skullrook has a devastating attack (Extra-large Drill) which can do some hefty damage even on super robot types. It also has a group attack so you'll want to use spirit commands to increase your defence or evasion on all members of a platoon. Magnum doesn't have any group attacks but can do some pretty hefty damage to real robot types. Use spirit commands on the platoon leader when attacking.

When dealing with Dungele's platoon, I also suggest destroying the platoon members before defeating Dungele for extra exp and money. If you defeat Dungele before destroying his platoon members, he'll escape along with his whole platoon.

The Muge small air battle mech that's at the front row of the enemy fleet are small units so you'll find a lot of attacks will have low hit rate even with real type robots. Use hit rate spirit skills.

A few notes:
- Muge are the alien enemies from Dancouga series.

 - Garuda was a great general from Campbell that showed up in the first Alpha game. He was obviously defeated in the first game.

 - I'm not sure if anyone noticed in the pervious video, but Mazinkaiser was spelt wrong for some of the attack name display (was spelt Mazinka'SI'er). That's corrected in this video.

Here's the video:

Note: It is currently still uploading. I will update once it's done.

Update: Video is up!

  1. Awesome. I'm in suspense waiting to see what's going to happen in Part 4 - 2.

So you're getting all the skill points as you're going through, so maybe I should too? Will it change the ending or anything?

    1. If you keep getting the skill points, it will shift the game's difficulty to hard. However, you get the added +5 pilot skill points for all involved in the stage. Also if you get 57 skill points and a total turn count below 450 turns by stage 59 you'll open the "True" ending stage. Just a warning though, I might be getting all of the skill points up to now but I'm actually not going for the "True" ending on this route. So you'll notice I might skip out on some near the end.
