As I mentioned in the previous post, this stage has two battle stages. This is the second battle stage and it's actually when the stage's title role shows up. The stage lasts for 2 turns but in reality, you only play 1 turn. The rest of the stage is just all story events.
The only thing you need to do gameplay wise is to survive. So use the Ryusei and Rai's spirit commands to survive the enemy turn. You can't attack so just move as far away from the enemies as possible. You'll probably be attacked by two of the enemies but you should be able to survive. I was actually pretty lucky getting through it unscathed. When turn 2 starts, there's really no need to do anything as the stage end event will start on the enemy turn.
A few notes:
- SRX is actually a super robot type unit composed of 3 different real type units. R-1, R-2 Powered, and R-3 Powered make up the SRX. R-1 is piloted by Ryusei, R-2 is piloted by Rai, and R-3 is piloted by Aya. When they combine as SRX, Ryusei does the actual piloting of the unit; Rai maintains the units power levels and monitors the Tronium engine; And Aya maintains the transformation of the units with the T-Link system. In the first game (Alpha 1), the SRX team is disbanded and the unit is dismantled at the end of the game.
- T-Link System (Telekinesis Link system) is a system created to utilize a pilot's telekinesis ability for support/control of the unit. The system is using some Extra-over technology so there's still a lot about the system that is not really known.
- Uranus System is a backup for the T-link system implemented to protect the unit and/or pilots. It activates when the pilot using the T-link system is under great stress. The system boosts the unit's power levels and reaction time greatly but at the cost of the T-link user's mental health.
- Tronium is a highly unstable material that is extremely radio active but can produce immense amount of energy with little effort. It is only found in certain meteorites and is extremely rare.
- The name of Vaikran and it's attack "Beria Readyfer" might not be translated properly into English. I've tried to see if there's a translation for those but have not been successful. If someone knows the proper translations for those, please let me know so I can correct it in the future.
- I didn't put any markers for this video as it's mostly just story events.
A side note about the stage 4 prologue:
- I forgot to add in the notes, the proper translation for Shin Getter 3's attack "Daisetsuzan Oroshi Nidangaeshi." I could of used the literal translation, which is "Big Snowy Mountain Drop - Double Reverse", but decided not to as it is a Japanese attack. I was going to add the literal translation in the notes but forgot to do it in the last blog entry.
Here's the video:
DId Aya really just died?
ReplyDeleteYes, the SRX! ...Which just got crapsmashed in every possible way by the Aerogators, holy shit. Hits the SRX in every weak point, repowers it back up, destroys it again, steals the power source, kills Aya, fucks with Ryusei, and then finally blows it up.
ReplyDeleteI guess Ryusei and Rai are going to be on the sidelines for a while now!
Thanks as always for the vid.
You're welcome! I love how the villain toys with SRX before killing it. Just brutal.
DeleteI would assume Mr. Happy's unit would be called Vayyikran as there was an Aerogater unit in both SRW Alpha 1 and OGs called Vayyikra (it was localized as Vaikul in the GBA games, though) - a Mass-Produced "Elite Mook".
ReplyDeleteAs for the attack's name, I really have no idea. Most Balmarian units/people have Jewish references in their names so it may be Hebrew.
Ah, yes. On subject of the Daisetsuzan Oroshi: some translators often use "Big/Great Avalanche" as the name.
DeleteAs you've pointed out, the literal translation doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.
The name of the unit is probably Vaikuran if the localized GBA game had Vaikul. As the two units are related. If I remember right, Vaikul was a mass-produced version of the Vaikuran.
DeleteI'm sure you are right about the attacks having some Jewish reference but I don't know Hebrew and have no one I can ask for help on this stuff. If you know a place I can get help or someone that could help, let me know.
Hmm. Well it's been around 2 years since I've played OGs so I can't really remember.
DeleteAs for the attack, I couldn't find anything to translate but I've managed to piece a lil' bit together with Google. Redifah, I believe, means "Persecution" and, while Beria didn't yield anything significant, Berea was an Jewish community that existed around 55 A.D.
Either way, It'd probably be mind-wrecking trying to translate Japanese > Hebrew > English!
So I guess it should be Berea Redifah. Definitely not easy to translate from Japanese > Hebrew > English. Especially when they tend to refer to ancient Hebrew words.
DeleteWell, you can use translation for the Ze Balmary empire's units from The Gate of Magus, since they've done a lot of research for those translations:
Deletehttp://srwog.velv.net/balmar.html
Not all of those are correct though, for example the name of Vayikran/Vaikuran or Beria Redifah (as discussed, Berea makes more sense than Beria). But still, that's a trustworthy source. Note that the Gader (the small unit that has a Deflect Field) and Joelah Ben's strongest attack are missing.
Also, this is the topic for their translating discussion, which might be useful:
